What is a SkyBox+?

What did the installation include?

 

- Features an integrated Victron MultiPlus II 48/15000 Inverter Charger, Victron 450/200 MPPT Solar charger, Victron Cerbo GX, Victron GX Touch, and Victron 4G LTE Module.

- Pre-Wired AC External Switchboard, Pre-Wired external Solar input, Pre-Wired connections for BSL B-LFP48-100E rack mount lithium batteries, Internal Busbars and Circuit Protection.

- 8x BSL B-LFP48-100E 48V 5.12kWh Rack Mount LiFePO4 Battery (40.96kWh storage) can be expanded with another 6 BSL batteries (making a total of 71.68kWh maximum battery storage).

- 46x Longi Solar 440w Hi-MO 6 Scientist LR5-54HTH 440M Solar Panels (20.24kW Solar Array).

- SMA Sunny Boy 5kW Inverter for interconnection with AC. With 13.64kW of solar power connected as DC via the Victron 450/200 MPPT and 6.6kW of solar power connected as AC via the SMA Sunny Boy PV Inverter.

 

What can this system run?

 

This SkyBox+ Off-grid system included a 15kVA Inverter Charger, 20.24kW Solar Array, and 40.96kWh Lithium battery storage in order to run water pumps, heavy machinery, lighting, and fridges in a large shed for a remote site on a rural farm. This saved the customer hundreds of thousands of dollars in running power lines out to the remote shed and paying for continuous running costs. Because the system is independent of the grid, it gives the consumer independence in energy consumption and the way they choose to use their electricity.

At the appropriate time, it is possible to extend the battery bank or integrate and activate a generator in the system in order to deal with the unfavorable weather conditions such as rain or cloudy skies. Since the SkyBox+ system is designed compatible with products from Victron, the Cerbo GX makes it possible to monitor the whole system, including solar performance, battery capacity, charging, and discharging activities remotely through the Victron VRM Portal.
